Recent Purchases (Again!)

Coming home is seriously dangerous because it means my mom and I go on some major shopping sprees. We both have similar taste so it's fun for both of us to go out and buy some great items for a decent price. So of course when we went to the outlet mall it's was seriously a field day for us. I got asked by a few of my followers to do a blog post about my new buys so I can't refuse!

First, Saturday morning I FINALLY got Lilly Pulitzer's Jillie dress. This is now the third time I've tried to get this dress! I was so excited to see it on Re-Lilly, even though it is a size bigger than what I normally wear, it was such a great deal for only $75 that I'll just get it taken in!! So excited to wear this to a formal in the spring :)

First purchase at the outlets, J Crew chino shorts. I know so many people who love these shorts, but I had never tried them on before so therefore were scared to ever order them online during sales. Lets just say, these are the most comfortable shorts I've ever tried on! They fit perfectly and are great for tucking shirts in. This will be my first of many pairs!

These adorable Anne Taylor flats are going to be perfect for game days :) I've been searching for yellow shoes forever and I'm so happy I found some!

I fell in love with this Brooks Brothers sweater!! Same with the belt and pearl bracelet :)

I'm obsessed with this Kate Spade bow ring :) Could a ring be any cuter?!

Now I had the most success at Gap! I got a navy/white stripped sweater, a green 3/4 sleeve sweater, a pink 3/4 sleeve cardigan, green/white floral shorts and an adorable red dress.

I got the BB belt to go with the Gap dress :) I think it's going to look adorable paired with my boots!

I swear I'm done shopping for awhile! Since school is starting soon I'll be super busy and wont have time for so much shopping... hopefully. Haha but everything I got was at least 30% off, if not 70% on some items + it was tax free weekend!

I'll try my best to do another post before moving back down to school! Until next time, stay sweet & sassy! xx

Cowboy Boots Love

Despite the fact I've lived in Georgia my whole life, I have never owned a pair of cowboy boots. I guess all my life up until recently I have tried to surpress my southern ways, but now I am embracing it! My mom wasn't surprised when I confessed to her I wanted a pair of cowboy boots. She actually did some research and found Horsetown, which is a western store that seriously sells everything from cowboy boots to tack. Fortunately for me, all 3 locations are in Georgia, one being only 30 minutes from my house! So my mom and I drove over one day, and went boot shopping! The guy who helped us was super nice and told me all about how my boot should fit and explained to me how the leather will stretch and whatnot. Amazingly, I feel in love with the first pair I tried on. They were the right color, height, and fit perfectly on my calves. I tried on some others just to be sure, but I knew that first pair was my favorite. I left that store so happy and excited about my new boots!!

Aren't they perfect?

Recent Purchases

As I'm sure my blog makes pretty obvious, I love shopping. If there was a job that consisted of me getting paid to go shopping, I would be an instant professional. But unfortunately I don't know of any job that's that glamourous, and being a college student poses many limitations to treating everyday like a shopping spree, as in I don't have the funds to do so. Therefore I pretty much buy everything on sale using my rule that if I save more than I spend, I got a deal! (it's true, right?!) Ever since I've got home from my internship, I have been doing some seriously shopping in preparation for fall. Here are some of my most recently purchased goodies :)

I've had this clutch on my wish list all summer so ordering this made me so excited!! Especially since I got it for a discounted price ($29) thanks to her facebook giveaway!

I became obsessed with this Talbots flats after seeing them on Sarah Vicker's blog and got super excited when I saw them on sale for only $33.99 as opposed $109! It was such a good deal I got 2 pairs :)

This Lilly Pulitzer Callie skirt in Garden By The Sea was on sale at my local Lilly store for $42 in comparison to it's original price, $88. Could you say no to this adorable skirt? I have another skirt in this style and it's seriously my favorite!

Ok, these Merona tank tops weren't on sale, but were only $9 at Target! And I don't think you can ever have too many white tanks, and I bought the yellow to wear with my new skirt :)

It's cute, right?!?

My mom treated me to these Calvin Klein wedges (bought at Belk) for me to wear on pref night during rush next week! I'm horrible at walking in heels, but love the look of heels so these wedges are the perfect balance. Easy to walk in, super cute, and still a little height :)

I also got these 2 beauties from the Talbots sale :) Everything is an extra 75% off so be sure to check it out!

I can't wait to wear this gorgeous silk top with my pink flats and pink bubble necklace that's currently being shipped to my house :)

This jacket actually makes me excited for fall! I can't wait to pair it with a navy and white stripped shirt with my navy flats or with a colorful top and some boots :)

Speaking of boots, I also got a pair of beautiful cowboy boots that I'm obsessed with. But I want to do a different post completely dedicated to them :) So look out for it!

Until next time, stay sweet & sassy! xx

Savannah, Georgia: Part 2

More pictures of Savannah, Georgia!

Chippewa Square, my favorite square right next to my favorite coffee shop, The Gallery Espresso. Apparently this is the square where all the bench shots in Forest Gump was filmed :)
The Crab Shack on Tybee Island. I personally don't like sea food so I wasn't impressed, but I feel like ever tourist on the island has to eat here once. They have huge sea food platers and a trash can under the table with a hole over it so you can throw away all the shells and what not. It is outside and they have a gator pit that's entertaining!
Sweet Potatoes! An amazing southern restaurant off of Waters, home of the world's best banana pudding according to the Food Network show, Man vs. Food!!
Another must do while in Savannah. Mrs. Wilkes is a family style restaurant where you sit a table with a group of around 10 people. All the food is served in bowls and on platters that are passed around the table. It's delicious southern food and it's really fun talking to the other people at your table!
Bonaventure Cemetery is a little drive outside of downtown, but it use to be home to the Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil statue that's extremely famous to Savannah!! The statue has been moved to a museum, but the cemetery is still worth a visit. John Mercer and other significant people to Savannah are buried there, but it's located right on the water with a pretty view!

Like I said, I had a bucket list to do while I was here. Here's my list, the one's with a strickthrough are places I've been, including all the photographed ones already posted plus places I didn't take pictures at. There are some places I haven't gotten to and hope I can in future visits!

Savannah, Georgia: Part 1

For those of you who don't know, I have been lucky enough to spend the whole summer living and interning on Skidaway Island, an island just below Tybee Island and about a 30 minute drive from downtown Savannah. I had only visited Savannah in my middle school years for the Georgia state swim championship , therefore I spent more time at the aquatic center than roaming the city. At first I was really excited, then super nervous about moving to a city where I didn't know anyone or really anything about. Luckily, I am 1 of 8 interns from my school out here and since the institution I'm working for provided housing, they threw us all together to live under 1 roof. Although we are stuck out here on an island, we have figured out ways to entertain ourselves. I started doing some research and reading tourist pamphlets and made a list of things I wanted to do during my time here in Savannah. Luckily I have been able to accomplish most of this list! I figured I could break down the list into a few blog posts to give people a glimpse at some possible things to do in the Savannah area.

For starters, here's where I lived. A 4 bedroom, 3 bath bungalow on my institution's campus.
Here's a view of Moon River from the campus. This river is literally a 1 minute walk from our front door. Pretty cool!
The first week we were here we did a group dinner at The Cotton Exchange on River Street. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant, but of course River Street is a must see for anyone visiting.
One thing I do remember about Savannah from my previous trips is the candy stores. Also on River Street, they smell soooo good and make their candy right there! Free samples are always given out when you walk around the store which will only tempt you more to buy something! :)
Tybee Island! One of the few beaches in Georgia and not a far drive from Savannah! We frequented the beach all summer, sometimes even leaving work early for a beach day :)
So this is a little embarrassing, but I googled Paula Deen's address on Wilmington Island and boyfriend and I drove by her house one day. It's gated and there's lots of plants around the fence so you can hardly see anything, but she has a beautiful piece of property right on the inter coastal and across the street from the island's golf club!
Another thing Savannah is known for are the many squares scattered throughout the city. I can't tell you how many times I've had ice cream, coffee or just relaxed in the beautiful squares. If you go on a ghost tour they'll tell you which ones are haunted too!!
Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady and Sons is a must go to in Savannah! Be sure to make reservations at least a week in advance. Located in the middle of downtown, the restaurant offers a large menu of southern style meals including a buffet of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and other southern goodies. You will leave very full and happy!
Forsyth Park! Also in downtown Savannah, Forsyth Park a great place to walk around, have a picnic, or play a game of frisbee. Some of my roommates and I stumbled upon the park one Friday afternoon and it was busy with people walking their dogs and SCAD students just hanging out. It's in a very different part of town than River Street and we fell in love with it!
A beautiful Catholic church on Bull Street we found the same evening. I'm hoping to attend mass there this Sunday and see the inside, but judging from the outside it will be absolutely stunning on the inside too! Again, I loved this area of Savannah. Lots of small boutiques, coffee shops, art galleries. Very historic, beautiful, and very southern.
Colonial Cemetery, apparently it's haunted by a man who died from being mugged on night in the cemetery. But besides that, it's cool to see some family vaults and important people's to Savannah gravestones.

That's all I'm going to do for now :) Trust me there is SO much more!! Until next time, stay sweet & sassy! xx
